While the power outage in LA made it impossible for me to get ready in time to shoot with any type of daylight, it did allow me to get around to this post that I have been meaning to do. I have received a few emails and messages asking what I use on my skin and beauty products that I recommend. So here are some of my absolute favorites that you will always find a back up of in my bathroom.
Side note: Every product I have here has been bought with my own money and tried and true by me. I have not been compensated in any way for this post.
As far as the skin care/facial products I use I can safely say that in the hunt to find a regime that is a good match for my skin I have pretty much tried everything out there, from drugstore to high end. My skin has been through hell and back and I finally found a combination that truly works for me. I am not going to lie, I was shocked to find out how amazing Clinique’s skincare line truly is. For some reason I always associated it with older demographic (what was going through my head?!). I am telling you though, this stuff works! Everyone I have switched over to Clinique can not believe they did not try it sooner either. I first wash my face in the shower with Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging Thermal Mini-Peel Daily Treatment. Once I get out I pump the Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 onto a cotton pad and run over my face once. I then finish off with the Clinique Moisture Surge. My skin is not what you would consider oily but not what you would consider dry either, I am that hard to treat in between, and this combination is moisturizing while not causing me to be oily and keeps me acne free. These three simple steps are all it takes for me.
Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme – Living in Los Angeles can be wearing on your skin and the constant sun causes it to be dry. I love this lotion for how moisturizing it is while making my skin incredibly soft. I find that even living in California I only need to moisturize once a day with this product. The same can be said for my lips as well, the constant sun has them chapped non stop. To keep my pout smooth I am literally obsessed with the Nivea Lip Butter.
Moroccanoil – Let me start off by saying I am not a hair product junkie. I actually am not a fan of most products out there, I very rarely even use hairspray. I love Moroccan oil for the way it smooths and adds shine to my hair while not making it oily.
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation – The perfect compliment to my skin care routine is this foundation. The same trials I went through with skin care I went through in finding a foundation. Laura Mercier got it so right, this foundation is light weight, provides coverage, and does not make your skin oily. It also has a great dewy finish to it that I absolutely love!
Benefit Porefessional – This product literally makes your foundation glide on, which is worth every penny in my book… enough said.
Benefit They’re Real – I am constantly asked if my eyelashes are real. Technically yes, with a few coats of this product of course. I did not think a mascara could make that much of a difference, but really, this one does. “They’re Real” does everything it claims to do and a product that lives up to it’s name is worth it’s weight in gold.
A bold lip – This for me is an absolute beauty must. It does not have to be for every day, it does not even matter what color you wear, but a bold lip can make you feel like a whole new woman for a day. Which is exactly why I love it!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz – Let’s face it, your brows frame your face. Let’s keep them groomed while still being natural!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener – This is my go to product for those days where I have gotten a little less sleep than I would have liked. Which if I’m being honest is almost everyday. It is the perfect product for brightening up my under eye area and is a great dupe of the Trish McEvoy brightener at a quarter of the price.
Perfume – I feel naked without it. Who doesn’t want to smell good?!
OPI Nail Envy – GO GET IT NOW! My nails were horrible before this, I tried so many strengtheners to actually have them burn my skin. This stuff works. My nails are stronger and longer than they have every been and only rip when I am my klutzy self and jam them into the dishwasher. Again, worth every penny (the bottle does last about 3 months for me)!
Seche Vite – An incredibly fast drying, literally dries my nails in 2 minutes, and amazing glossy top coat.
