When Cara asked me to do a guest post while she was vacationing in Mexico, the absolute only reason I agreed was because… I was unfortunately unable to come to Mexico with her! 😉 Friends like Cara only come around once in a blue moon, and I feel so fortunate that blogging brought us together. This post also has serendipitous timing in a way, since I am taking a little break from my blog. Cara reminded me how fun it is and why I do what I do!
This look was what I envisioned to be Olivia Pope meets Anna Wintour meets fashion blogger. I had a client meeting scheduled that day that ended up getting pushed, so I instead wore this for a dinner date with my husband and a quick grocery trip. Cara and I always joke about wearing yoga pants to the grocery store (no comment on the veracity of this concept, ahem), but this time I decided to sweater-dress it. This J.Crew Factory gem is the easiest, coziest way to look put-together without letting the world know you’re actually just relishing in fuzzy goodness. (And later at home, it was obviously #yogapantsandwinetime.)
Also, can we please discuss the fact that I’m not wearing any makeup? Thanks to my handy-dandy sunglasses you can’t see my eyes, but major props to Amarte’s Heart & Seoul Collection and Persa-Gel 10 for getting my skin almost-clear after having mononucleosis and subsequent breakouts this year. I’m sure many of you share my dislike for “the a-word” in adulthood, too, and I am so glad to bidding it adieu!
Well, it’s been fun playing for a while on Cara’s blog. Three cheers for my beautiful host! And congratulations to her sister for what is surely a beautiful wedding. (#picsplease)
Side note (from Cara): I hope, actually I know, you will all love Sarah as much as I do. She literally is my long lost twin and I am sure of it. In my defense if I could have brought her along I would have, but both of us being north of 5’8″ that wasn’t going to fly. Our husband’s both roll their eyes at the amount of texts back and forth on a daily basis, #yogapantsandwinetime #thankgoodnessforunlimitedtexting. Oh and if you didn’t catch on yet, or haven’t seen our twitter rants back and forth, I am pretty sure we are the queens of absolutely pointless made up hashtags (please feel free to join in;)); but that’s okay, life is about having fun! I made her promise it wouldn’t be a permanent good-bye as sometimes you just need to be reminded why you love something and why you started it in the first place. I have loved her blog since I first discovered her, or wait, she first discovered my 25 things and shared my ridiculous obsession with and love for coffee, and would miss her pretty face too much!
