Pearls on pearls on pearls… the Chanel runway was every girls dream. For most a not so attainable dream while still be able to afford rent, a car note and any sort of food besides the 10 packs of Top Ramen for $1 deal. Did I debate living for a few months off a bag of rice and the aforementioned food source? I will plead the fifth, besides any thought was quickly nixed by the fact that I have a husband, daughter and very hungry puppy. Now we all know how sometimes we see those things that we feel we can’t live without, that never truly leave our minds. These are the times for me that a DIY comes into play. An inspired look that is so affordable to recreate you can justify a new pair of shoes and maybe handbag on the side while still eating like a normal human being…
Double Pearl Earrings
You will need:
2 pearl stud earrings
2 large half drilled pearls
2 rubber earring backers
Heavy duty glue (I used E6000)
**everything for this DIY can be found in the Wander and Hunt Kit here for only $29.
Dip your toothpick into your glue and carefully fill hole on the larger pearl.
Place rubber earring backer into the hole you just filled with you glue. Allow to dry.
I repeated this process to make a monochrome pair (white pearl stud with black pearl backing)
Once the pearl and backing has dried together insert the stud into the backing and you are done!
Double Pearl Ring
You will need:
1 6mm Half Drilled Pearl, 1 8mm Half Drilled Pearl, 1 10mm Half Drilled pearl (I used swarovski pearls)
*I found everything to create the rings at firemountaingems.com and jewelrysupply.com
Cut the ring wire to preffered size. I cut so the wire just touched to the outer sides of my fingers.
Fill the half drilled hole in one of your pearls with super glue.
Insert one end of the ring and hold in place for 10-15 seconds.
Repeat the process for the second pearl. NOTE: I paired the 6mm/8mm pearl for one ring and the 10mm/12mm pearl for the other.
Allow to dry for at least an hour and you are done.
Is there anything you have been lusting after but can’t quite justify? Feel free to leave any DIY ideas and I will try and recreate them.
